Summary: The project aims at establishing a DNA barcoding database for the genus Pan stored in the collections of the RMCA. This project will provide tools to identify specimens, including their origin, in the context of forensic investigations such as illegal wildlife trade and pouching (actions undertaken in the framework of CITES).
